Energy Efficiency

The development objective of the Energy Efficiency Project for Belarus is to improve energy efficiency in heat and power generation in selected towns in Belarus. The changes are to extend the closing dates of the original loan from December 31, 2015 to December 31, 2017 and of the additional financing loan from December 31, 2016 to December 31, 2017. This will allow the project to:

(i) fully implement the contract for pipeline construction in Borisov (United States (U.S.) 2.7 million dollars);

(ii) utilize the remaining U.S. 2.2 million dollars for reconstruction of the open distribution system 110 kilo volt (kV) in Borisov; and

(iii) implement the Gomel combined heat and power plant (CHP-1) investment subproject.
