The scope of the contract is the design of interim storage facilities (ISFs) that are intended to provide long term storage for long-lived intermediate level waste (LL-ILW), high level waste (HLW) and vitrified, heat generating high level waste (vit-HLW). The radioactive waste to be stored will include that generated as a result of the building works of the Chernobyl Shelter and the dismantling operations of units 1 to 3 of the Chernobyl nuclear facility.
