Fencing around the New Safe Confinement in Chernobyl

This project will further develop the New Safe Confinement (NSC) whose purpose is to protect the existing 'shelter' and adjacent structures caused by the incident of 1986 in Chernobyl. This project will ensure safe working conditions for those who operate in and around the infrastructure in order to dismantle it. The funds will also help towards the following projects: the construction of new structures and the strengthening of existing ones; works, services and equipment to complete fencing and the preparation of a perimeter around the 'shelter', and finally, this project will support broader cooperation with New Safe Confinement project.
