Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Actions (NAMAs) for Low carbon End-use Sectors in Azerbaijan

UNDP-Azerbaijan has prepared PIF on NAMAs in oil and gas sectors of Azerbaijan in close cooperation with SOCAR and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and submitted to GEF. According to PIF, there will be 4 project components listed below: 1. Preparation of energy/GHG emission inventories, identification of baselines and reduction targets; 2. Development of mitigation actions for oil & gas sector, first of all in electricity generation, buildings, and transport; 3. Implementation of NAMAs in the oil & gas end-use sectors; 4. Preparation and implementation of MRV system and national registry for mitigation actions in the energy generation.
