Enhancing the capabilities of the Armenian Nuclear Regulatory Authority and its Technical Support Organisation in reviewing documents demonstrating the long-term safety of Unit 2

The specific objectives of this project are the following:
(a) to strengthen ANRA and NRSC capabilities in review, safety assessment and licensing of plant safety improvement measures resulting from the stress tests of the Armenian NPP;
(b) to strengthen ANRA and NRSC capabilities in reviewing documents containing safety justifications and licence applications related to the planned long-term operation (LTO) of the Armenian NPP;
(c) to enhance the regulatory framework applied for the regulatory supervision of the planned LTO of the Armenian NPP;
(d) to provide on-site assistance to ANRA by EU experts during the licensing review activities related to the implementation of the safety improvement measures and the LTO.
